Problem 01

Understanding how a website is built usually means using several different tools. Technology stack detectors, DNS lookups, security checkers, performance tools and domain research each provide part of the picture, but rarely bring everything together in one place.

The aim was to create a single, simple tool that could analyse a website and turn the underlying technical information into something useful and easy to understand.

Approach 02

I built a web-based scanner that takes a domain and automatically builds a technical profile of the website.

The scanner looks across several layers, including the technology stack, hosting and CDN, DNS, TLS certificates, security headers, email protection, Core Web Vitals, analytics and third-party services. Where possible, it also identifies platforms such as WordPress and Shopify.

The focus was on making the complexity behind a website accessible through a clean interface and plain-language explanations, rather than presenting users with a wall of technical data.

Outcome 03

The result is a free, no-account website analysis tool that brings multiple areas of technical research into a single report.

It provides a quick way to understand how a website is built, where it is hosted, how it performs, what security protections are visible, and which external services it relies on.

As a portfolio project, it demonstrates full-stack development, web technologies, DNS and infrastructure research, security analysis, performance data and API integration.
